I am energized by helping others feel understood, supported, and valued. I am passionate about working together to generate new ideas by simplifying complexity and clarifying a manageable path forward.

How I got here

For years, going with the flow and staying in line with the expectations I was handed was all I knew. While appearing capable and in control on the outside, on the inside I was hustling to feel confident while I figured out what I truly wanted out of life. Picture a swan - calm movement above water covering for swiftly paddling feet under the surface.

Was I objectively successful? Sure. A perfectionist, a people-pleaser? You bet!

I was also anxious, passive, and a bit lost.

So, what made the difference? Years of honest and, sometimes, uncomfortable conversations and feedback. I was encouraged to stretch beyond current expectations and reminded of my strengths. Eventually, I listened.

Today, I walk with less fear. I am more assertive and move with courage towards things anxiety kept out of reach. I credit solid, affirming personal relationships and mentors with my increased self-acceptance and confidence.

How I empower others

We chart a path together to strengthen your understanding of yourself and your close relationships. I help uncover what is important to you and, most importantly, what you can do to get more of what you need.

You will feel more confident in your ability to face individual and relationship challenges effectively.

Why Other Professionals Refer to Me

  • “Jeniimarie is a seasoned family clinician. She creates and maintains an atmosphere where families can be heard and validated and where problems can be discussed without blame and criticism. In addition to modeling problem solving behaviors, Dr. Febres confidently uses a variety of clinical techniques to help families clearly and as objectively as possible understand not only the problems that motivated attending therapy but the family strengths that can be used to create more effective ways to better manage family problems. She works intensely with families to encourage and support attempts to put into action behaviors and practices to improve family life.”

  • “Dr. Febres is highly regarded by colleagues as a leader who conducts herself with the utmost integrity and who upholds a high standard of excellence in her work. I was fortunate to have been Dr. Febres’ post-doctoral supervisee, and more recently to work with Dr. Febres as a fellow psychologist in Brown University Health’s Family Therapy program, where she served as Director, and have learned much from her mentorship and collegiality. As Dr. Febres’ supervisee, I had the chance to observe Dr. Febres conducting couple and family therapy sessions. I saw firsthand how she establishes an environment of safety and trust from her first meeting with patients, guiding families through tough discussions with skill and sensitivity in order to help them obtain greater clarity, mutual understanding, and connection. She approaches the thorniest of issues with a calm, steady presence, instilling confidence in others that they, too, are capable of tackling difficult problems.”
